The Glenmorangie whisky is distilled in the tallest copper pot stills in Scotland. The height of their necks alone is 5.14 metres, equivalent height to an adult giraffe. This means that when we distil our spirit, we collect only the finest and smoothest of spirit, as the heavier and impure alcohols fall back down the still. At Glenmorangie, our obsession with understanding cask maturation has been influenced by over 25 years of research. We know that using our casks only twice means they remain full of flavour and allow us to create whisky of exceptional depth and complexity. Two years older than its predecessor, Quinta Ruban is a bold and velvety 14-year-old Highland whisky, with flavors of Seville orange and dark chocolate shining through stronger than ever. Glenmorangie is renowned for pioneering the art of extra-maturation. For this single malt, the whisky is first aged in bourbon casks, then finished in ruby port pipes and barriques from Portugal.
